Boruto: 22 Main Characters & Their Parents (2023)

And whileBoruto: Naruto Next Generationsnever became as popular asNaruto, neither the manga, nor the anime, the next generation of Masashi Kishimoto’s characters does have a large fanbase that is eagerly following the events of both the manga and the anime. As you probably know by now,Borutois primarily focused on the anime series, which has more than 200 episodes, while the manga is not even on Chapter 100. To honor that popularity, we have decided to dedicate this article to the characters from Boruto and their families.

What we are about to present to you is a wholly different list than the ones you are used to. Namely, this list is also going to be focused on the main characters from Boruto, but the data we are going to give you is going to be solely about their families. Namely, the list is going to be focused on the parents of the main Boruto characters. Before we give you the details, here is a quick overview:

Naruto Uzumaki

Due to the conditions in which Naruto’s mother was, who was the Jinchūriki of the Nine-Tails, Naruto’s birth had to be carried out very cautiously. When it was time to give birth, the seal that contained the beast inside the Jinchūriki weakened, making it necessary to strengthen it after the end of childbirth. Naruto was born in a room protected by a barrier and said the birth was only witnessed by his parents, Kushina Uzumaki and Minato Namikaze, as well as Biwako Sarutobi, wife of Hiruzen Sarutobi, and Taji, a medical ninja who helped during the birth. Naruto became an orphan when his parents sacrificed themselves to save him and seal Kurama within him.

Sasuke Uchiha and Itachi Uchiha

Sasuke is the youngest son of the captain of the Konoha Military Police and leader of the Uchiha Clan, Fugaku Uchiha, and his wife Mikoto Uchiha. He is named after the Third Hokage’s father. Sasuke spent his early years living in the shadow of his older brother (Itachi Uchiha), who constantly proved himself a genius in the ninja arts. Because of this, almost all the members of the Uchiha clan saw Itachi as the future of the clan, being the one who most affirmed what was previously said by his father.

Sakura Haruno

Not much is known about Sakura’s birth, save for the fact that her father is a shinobi called Kizashi Haruno and that her mother is a kunoichi called Mebuki Haruno. In the anime, Mebuki and her husband were visited by Kakashi and the Third Hokage after discovering that their daughter would study under Kakashi Hatake. They were enthusiastically invited to tea by Mebuki and Kizashi. This is all that is known about her past.

Hinata and Hanabi Hyūga

Hinata is the eldest daughter of the Hyūga Clan’s leader, Hiashi Hyūga, and as the firstborn, she is also the heir to the clan’s main house. Apparently, she lost this position, since her father considered that her younger sister, Hanabi, was more capable to have said position when she dies, but it was also because he considered her to be a failure.

Boruto and Himawari Uzumaki

Boruto was born from the union of Naruto Uzumaki and Hinata Hyūga, also having a younger sister named Himawari Uzumaki. During a morning of a peaceful winter day in Konohagakure, Boruto, together with Himawari, went out to hug his father, who was training, and start a snowball fight with him and his mother, which was one of the earliest memories he has of his childhood.

Sarada Uchiha

Several years after the end of the Fourth Shinobi World War, in addition to having no records of her birth, Sarada was born in one of Orochimaru’s hideouts thanks to Karin’s help. Sarada grew up in Konohagakure being raised solely by Sakura. On one occasion as a child when she asked Sakura where Sasuke was, however, she always answered that he was on an important mission, later, Sarada became ill and woke up seeing her mother awake sleeping next to the bed, after which she would begin to use glasses.

Metal Lee

Years after the end of the Fourth Shinobi World War, Lee was born from the union of Rock Lee with an unknown woman. Nothing is known about his childhood and his mother is completely absent from his life, a reason for which has not been given. It is, therefore, unknown who she was and why she is not present in Metal’s life; he was raised by his father.

Konohamaru Sarutobi

Konohamaru was born into the Sarutobi clan and was named by his grandfather after the village, being raised by his parents, who were ANBU under the direct command of the Third Hokage. The identity of his parents has not been revealed, but it is known that they were well-respected shinobi, both because of their skills – as they were ANBU – and their heritage.

Mitsuki and Log

Mitsuki is a synthetic human created by Orochimaru, being grown from the same embryo as his older brother, Log. Orochimaru, as his father, wanted Mitsuki to find independence from him, having concocted a complex plot to do so, though, with each failure, he would erase Mitsuki’s memories of what had happened. Orochimaru is thus, as far as Mitsuki and Log are concerned, both their mother and their father, since they were created from his genetic material.

Gaara, Temari, and Kankurō

Gaara is the youngest child of Rasa, the Fourth Kazekage, and Karura, with Temari and Kankurō being his older siblings. When he was born, the village was going through its worst moment, since the Third Kazekage was kidnapped by Sasori and, later, killed and turned into one of his puppets. Without the Kazekage, the other hidden villages and neighboring nations used the opportunity to attack the village, making life there very difficult.

Momoshiki Ōtsutsuki

Kinshiki Ōtsutsuki is known to be Momoshiki’s foster father, as well as his partner in their shared endeavors. Since the Ōtsutsuki are an alien race, the manner of their reproduction remains a big mystery, so we know absolutely nothing about Momoshiki’s birth or the exact relations between the members. Why Kinshiki is his foster father is not known either.

Kawaki

During his childhood, Kawaki was raised by Kokatsu, an alcoholic and abusive father. In the anime, Kawaki cut and sold firewood in his village to buy alcohol for his father. His biological mother is not known. His abusive drunk of a father later sold him to Jigen, who used him for his twisted experiments. After escaping, he was adopted by Naruto and Hinata into the Uzumaki family.

Isshiki Ōtsutsuki

Since the Ōtsutsuki are an alien race, the manner of their reproduction remains a big mystery, so we know absolutely nothing about Momoshiki’s birth or the exact relations between the members. Isshiki is a major character so we definitely had to put him on this list, but nothing about his relations to the other members of his clan is known so we don’t have any information for you. We know that he considers Kawaki his adoptive son but that is about that.

Kakashi Hatake

Kakashi is the only son of Sakumo Hatake, also known as “The White Fang of Konoha”. His mother, it seems, died very young. Kakashi has been known from a very young age as an immensely talented prodigy, considered by many to be the best of his generation. The identity of his mother has not been revealed.

Sumire Kakei

After Danzō Shimura’s death and Root’s existence, his actions became public knowledge, and all of its members were ostracized by the village, including Sumire’s family. This contributed to Sumire’s mother becoming ill and later dying of anguish and worry. Sumire’s father, Tanuki Shigaraki, trained her from a young age, to avenge Root and Lord Danzo’s ideals. Eventually, he implanted the Gozu Tennō into her, and a few minutes later she died. After the death of both of her parents, Sumire became an orphan and created the identity of “Sumire Kakei”, deciding that it was better to wait and create an alibi before executing her father’s plan.

Chōchō Akimichi

Several years after the end of the Fourth Shinobi World War, Chōchō was born from the union of Chōji Akimichi and Karui. At some point, she would enter the Ninja Academy, having Shino Aburame as a teacher. Her parents were both famous ninja, with her father coming from Konohakagure, and her mother coming from Kumogakure.
