Easy, creamy, 5-ingredient (but 2 don’t count!) pudding pops that are perfect for the 4th of July or any summer holiday: simply change up the colors to suit your celebration or leave out the blue for some Canada Day treats!
See? I told you I’d have a festive treat for my American friends, too.
Pudding pops. I’m obsessed.
They’re just (a) SO EASY and (b) so good!
I am still determined to create a better homemade pudding pop recipe than my first attempt, but I want to know: what are you guys looking for when you’re looking for a pudding pop recipe? Do you want all-homemade-no-boxes? Or are you looking for quick-and-easy-and-get-me-out-of-the-kitchen?
So often these days, it’s the latter I’m looking for.
Also, something that doesn’t make me cringe when I think of putting on a bathing suit. If you use fat free pudding mix, 1% milk and light whipped topping, these would be a perfectly acceptable Swimsuit Season Snack.
Tell me, how are you guys celebrating Canada Day or the Fourth of July? Barbecues, picnics, fireworks, family time, camping?
It has been ages since we’ve been to the fireworks. With a 3 year old and a baby, it’s hard to want to stay out until midnight or later and risk a complete meltdown or two.
Which is really just an excuse to stay home so I can get to bed early. But hey, what else are kids for?
However you’re celebrating, and whether you’re celebrating Canada or Independence Day, or somewhere else (you can always change up the colors!), these pudding pops would be a super simple, sweet treat for your par-tay!

Ingredients
- 1 box instant vanilla pudding 4 serving size
- 1 3/4 cup milk I used 1%
- 1 cup frozen whipped topping thawed
- Red food coloring as desired
- Blue food coloring as desired
Instructions
In a medium bowl, combine pudding mix and milk with a whisk until smooth. Slowly stir in whipped topping.
Divide in 3 batches and color one third red using food coloring as desired (I recommend gel food coloring as it is more concentrated and is less likely to turn pink). Color one third blue using food coloring as desired. Leave one third white.
Spoon pudding mixture into the bottom of 6 popsicle molds, alternating colors with every spoonful. If pudding has thickened and you are getting gaps, gently press the pudding down with your spoon as you place it in the mold. You aren’t going for neat and tidy anyway!
Freezer for 4-5 hours or until firm. To unmold, run under luke warm water for 1-2 minutes.

Hi Ashley! I definitely have to get popsicle molds! When I was a kid I would freeze juice in ice trays using toothpicks for sticks.
